6 Hours of Interrogation: Tibetan Harassed & Deported from China

Tibetan traveler Tashi Thondup landed in Shanghai with a VALID visa on his Indian passport. What happened next was a NIGHTMARE. At 4 AM immigration, officers pulled him aside. For SIX HOURS, he was interrogated, filmed by military personnel, and had every photo on his phone examined. They photographed his wife, children, and family. They asked specifically about DHARAMSALA connections. "I was terrified. They wouldn't let me move or touch my phone," Tashi said. After six hours, they declared his documents "INVALID" despite the valid visa, denied him entry, and escorted him to a Bangkok flight like a criminal while filming him. His warning to fellow Tibetans: "If you have an Asian face and a Tibetan connection, traveling to China is very RISKY. This was the worst experience of my life."
