China is tightening its diplomatic grip on Nepal, urging Kathmandu to suppress Tibetan and Taiwanese activities within its borders. In a straightforward meeting, Chinese Ambassador Zhang Maoming pressed Nepal’s Home Minister Sudan Gurung to ensure Nepali territory is not used for "separatist" movements. Zhang specifically warned Nepal against participating in the upcoming swearing-in of Penpa Tsering, president of the Central Tibetan Administration. The ambassador also cited a recent incident where a Taiwanese flag was displayed at a Kathmandu festival. Gurung reassured Beijing of Nepal’s strict adherence to the "One-China" policy, vowing to prevent anti-China operations.
