First North American Tibetan Youth Cultural Competition

 In a landmark effort to preserve their heritage against cultural assimilation, over 300 Tibetan students, teachers, and parents gathered in New York for the first-ever North American Tibetan Weekend Schools arts and literary competition. Organized to celebrate the global "Year of Compassion," the marathon event featured ten schools competing in debate, elocution, singing, and dancing. The competition highlighted a powerful commitment to keeping the Tibetan language and identity alive in the diaspora. Northern California’s Namchoe Kyeltsal School took first place overall. Leaders praised the youth's dedication, viewing it as a vital defense of their cultural legacy.
