The former Vice President arrived in the morning accompanied by members of his family for what appears to be their first significant in-person meeting. This visit marks a notable formal meeting between the former statesman and the spiritual leader. The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama has released video footage of the meeting, during which His Holiness expressed his admiration for India’s long-standing tradition of religious harmony. In turn, the former Vice President expressed his personal gratitude for the audience. Although Tibet Radio attempted to secure an interview, the former Vice President declined to interact with the media upon his departure.
