Tibetans Commemorate the 66th Tibetan Women's Uprising Day
Tibetan Women's Uprising Day, observed on March 12, honors a significant chapter in Tibetan history when thousands of women gathered at the Potala Palace in Lhasa to protest the Chinese occupation of Tibet. This event took place two days after the larger Tibetan Uprising began on March 10, 1959. The Tibetan Women’s Association and its chapters led various peaceful protests across India to mark the day.
Tibetans in Delhi mark Tibetan Women's Uprising Day with a peaceful protest at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi on March 12, 2025.
