Unyielding Resistance: The Price of Freedom in Ngaba
For decades, Tibetans have endured oppressive Chinese policies, but their spirit of resistance remains unbroken. From the vast Tibetan plateau to the heart of Ngaba in Amdo, the struggle for freedom has taken many forms—including self-immolation protests, a tragic yet powerful act of defiance.
Since 2009, 159 Tibetans have set themselves on fire in protest, with nearly one-third of these incidents taking place in Ngaba, the epicenter of Tibetan resistance. Despite relentless crackdowns, intellectuals, artists, and monks continue to speak out, risking their lives and freedom.
